Car-pedestrian accident in Rome leaves woman with minor injuries

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Durhamville woman suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car in the parking lot of the Mohawk Correctional Facility on Route 26 in the city of Rome early Saturday morning.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 53-year-old Patricia Rockwell was pulling out of a parking spot when her view was obstructed from frost on her windshield window.

Rockwell began to pull forward and failed to see 60-year-old Iola Yager.

Yager was knocked to the pavement.

She was transported to Oneida Hospital for injuries to her back, leg, and neck.

Rockwell was ticketed for driver's view obstructed returnable at Rome City Court
